FM-Phasis Update

Thank you so much to everyone who’s donated so far to FM-Phasis 2024. With your contribution, we are getting closer to our goal!

Our Early Bird Prize Draw is now closed. Congratulations to the winners! If you missed the Early Bird Draw, no worries! Our Grand Prize Draw deadline is Thursday, October 31st at 5PM. Get your donations in before then to be entered to win some sweet prizes from Pokey’s Pinball, Spoke N’ Sport, Escape Sports and Hearth Restaurant.

Thanks to The Venue at McLean Block, we were able to provide an accessible pick-up and pledge location for the duration of FM-Phasis. While that pick-up location is now closed, you can still pick up your prizes and make your pledges at CFCR HQ (267 3rd Ave S).

Please note that we are located on the 3rd floor with stair access only. We apologize for the inaccessibility of our space and are committed to making accommodations as needed. If you would like to make alternate arrangements for prize pick-up, please contact [email protected].

If you requested a tax receipt from your donation, these should arrive either by email or mail by the end of November. Please check your junk/spam folder around this time in case your tax receipt ended up there. If you have not received your tax receipt by mid-December, contact [email protected].

With your help, we can reach our goal of $75k!

CFCR Community Connect - October 2024

During the month of October 2024, we are excited to feature PAVED Arts as the feature organization for Community Connect.

PAVED Arts is a non-profit, artist run centre for production, presentation, research and dissemination of contemporary media arts. The word PAVED is an acronym signifying the integration of media art forms addressed by their mandate: photographic, audio, video, electronic, digital. PAVED Arts exists to support artists who work in the media.

October Plain AIR

Lindsay Arnold is a singer-songwriter, visual artist and filmmaker from North Portal, SK. She is one half of the country-folk duo, Last Birds.

Her paintings, drawings and videos about the small town experience have been exhibited internationally.

Her work is in the SK Arts collection as well as private collections around the world. The stop motion video she created for artist Alexis Normand’s song Tous les matins won Best Music Video at the 2023 Sask Music and Sask Independent Film Awards. Using folk music as one of her many mediums, Lindsay studies our imperfect relationships with the world around us. When she is not pursuing one creative project or another, she can be found working as the administrator for the Village of North Portal.

During Lindsay’s time hosting Plain A.I.R she will be delving into the intersection of visual art and music: album art. Look At The Music will uncover the creative people and the stories behind the images you know (and some you may not) which play an integral part in how we experience modern music.
